Where the Hell is Hillary on Ferguson?

I have often heard that a person's silence speaks volumes. Hillary Clinton's silence on the situation in Ferguson is deafening.

Let's cut with the political nonsense. She is apparently going to make a bid for the White House in 2016.
I for one, was going to support her hands down. I have to admit that one of the most difficult political decisions in my life was the decision to pick Obama over her in 2008.  The other was Nixon vs McGovern 1972. So she would get my support without question in 2015-16.
(cue the sound of a screeching car tire) Not so fast.

I became alarmed when she, publicly questioned the leadership of Obama on his decision not to bomb Syria.
Now I am not only alarmed, but pissed off on her silence regarding the shooting of Michael Brown and the police tactics in Ferguson. Especially in light of the the fact, that the only potential Presidential candidate that has made a statement is, Rand Paul.

Too make things worst even Sen. Ted Cruz has made a statement regarding police militarization.

But nothing, not a peep out of Hillary, and too be honest for her to make a statement now, would be useless and  not genuine. Timing is everything. YOU THINK?

It also gives fodder to those who say Democrats take the African American voter for granted. Even though it might be true, the danger for Democrat candidates is,  if they want black voters to come out and vote in relevant numbers, they better show they have interest in our issues. So far I have heard nothing from Hillary Clinton's camp.

If she is afraid of making nonwhite blue collar voters angry or uncomfortable, she is best to consider who will come out and vote for her in mass and not just a small percentage.

In fact to be honest Rand Paul has changed my mind considerably since his "Civil Rights comment on The Rachel Maddow Show.

I'm starting to build a mistrust of Hillary Clinton. That is bad, because I vote.

I did vote Republican once before, there is nothing to say that people who think like me won't do it again.

I'm starting to think like Krystal Ball on MSNBC's, The Cycle. Maybe Hillary is not the best candidate for Democrats after all.

Is Michael E. Dyson Race Shaming Obama?

On recent appearances on MSNBC, Dyson refered to his detractors as "Obamabots" , ( a Right Wing slur for liberals) and "Twitwits", as oppose to nitwits.

I am proud to be both.

Michael E. Dyson has his opinion on Obama's, comments regarding Micheal Brown and Ferguson, Mo. 
Well I have my opinion on Michael Dyson's disgraceful and unrealistic opinion of our nations first African American president.
Now I am not as educated as Professor Dyson and of course I am not a celebrity.
What I am is a 61 year African American who had his first political debate, in 1960. It was with my grandfather. He was going to vote for Nixon over JFK.

Dyson claims in his Op-ed in the Washington Post that,

He states in his Op-ed the following, Regarding the arrest of Henry Louis Gates and Obama's comments of his arrest "The blowback from that intervention pushed an already reticent Obama into a monkish silence on race." To be fair Dyson never did say that Obama's language on Mike Brown's killing should be more aggressive, because he is the first African American president.  But, just like other races blacks have "Dog Whistles" too.
I recall coming up in the 60's when finally I could be proud to be black. Soon, Blacks began to use our new proud label, to manipulate cooperation from other blacks. That is the first time I heard the phrase, "Is it Black enough for you?" When blacks, from politicians and athletes and common folk too, were judged on how much "Blackness" they expressed in comments regarding racial manners in America. If you weren't angry, with your fist balled in the air, you were not "Black enough". 

It is obvious, that Obama faces challenges, that no other POTUS as ever faced in the past. He exemplifies the phrase "Damned if he does, Damned if he doesn't". But for so-called Black activist to attack him on his style is the quintessence of irony. It's another case of a black person having to do 110% to be satisfactory, in reverse. 
The other irony is that the only people who seemed to be support Dyson's POV hold- heartily are Right Wing Trolls. People who do not care about the context of Dyson's opinion, it's the fact that he is attacking Obama and they LOVE IT!!!

I have asked this question in a tweet and I will ask it again....WHO DOESN'T BELIEVE THAT OBAMA ISN'T OUTRAGED WITH WHAT HAPPENED TO MIKE BROWN AND ALL BLACK YOUTH, WHO ARE GUNNED DOWN OBVIOUSLY UNFAIR AND ARGUABLE ILLEGALLY ?????. 

Every thing does not have to be said and expressed with emotion to understand what lies underneath.
Only an egotistical self promoting individual would believe, everything has to be expressed like Don King would, promoting a prize fight.
Obama said many times he is the President of all Americans. So therefore he must be cautious that there are those who fear he will lead in a unfair and prejudicial manner in favor of Blacks. As unrealistic as their fears are, they are still valid and MUST be considered.

If there is one thing I have learned in following Presidential politics for more than 50 years, is presidents get political points to spend the moment they are walk into the Oval Office.
It would be a foolish and stupid President to spend all of his political points at one time on one issues, i.e Invasion of Iraq.
Obama is not only the Democratic President he is also the ipso facto leader of the Democrat Party.
He has to think about others of our party who are running for office this November. What would happen if the GOP take over leadership in the Senate.
There is also Dyson's comparison of Obama's response to James Foley vs Mike Brown. Mike Brown was not beheaded on YouTube. I also was physically more angry at what happened to Foley but not less angry inside.
One last thing I think Dyson was attacking the wrong black person. He should have been attacking black celebrities  who showed more interest in dumping ice water on their heads than showing support for Mike Brown's family and the citizens of Ferguson, Mo, who were under military style attacks from their police department.

Finally, I too am uncomfortable with what seems to be the lack of attention paid to the problems of African Americans.  But I have faith that in 2016, there will be a change. The final year in office is when most POTUS are more likely to make controversial decisions. Until then I will support Obama unconditionally. If he leaves office and African Americans are still in the same place, then I will gripe unconditionally regarding his legacy.

African Americans: An Unwanted People in America.

Africans were brought to America for one purpose. Slave labor. The moment Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, we became an unwanted people in America. In fact Abraham Lincoln himself, wanted to send freed slaves back to Africa.

Except for a few years, immediately after the Civil War ended, African Americans have been treated like second class citizens. 

Andrew Johnson became President after Lincoln was assassinated. He in fact was a Southerner born in North Carolina. It should not be a surprise that he capitulated  to the Southern demands and allowed for "Jim Crow", to be part Reconstruction of the South. From that time on, racist Whites made it very clear African Americans were going to have a hard time.

What followed was prison system where Blacks were sent to prison for many years for infractions of the law. In fact I heard my great grand parents, who were raised in the South, refer to the laws as "Nigger Laws".

It was a legal way to put African Americans back into slave labor. Right now in 2014 there are more Black people in prison than were slaves in 1850.

Then came the 100 years of lynching, chronicled in the same name book by Ralph Ginzburg.

Followed by a 100 years of segregation laws, and threats to African Americans in 

White communities to leave before sun down.

In the late 19th Century the Back to Africa movement began, pushed by leaders like Marcus Garvey.

 Who in their right mind, would want to go to Africa, where colonization had left it one of the worse continents  in the world to this day. Riddled with disease and poverty. As bad as America is to Blacks it is better than many places in Africa. Be sure we are reminded of this fact in many ways.

Many will say all this happened in the past what has it got to do with today?

You'd have to be Black to understand that just because the optics have changed, the spirit behind unwarranted hate of Blacks never died.

It lives today in Ferguson, Mo, In New York City, Los Angels, Sanford, Florida, Detroit, were unarmed Black men and women are killed for minor infractions of the law or none at all. A man goes free for killing a unarmed teenager and a Black woman is sent to jail for firing a warning shot at her partner to avoid being assaulted.

A Black woman lies on a school application and given 5 years in prison. 

African Americans are dehumanized they same way, Japanese and Vietnamese were in the corresponding wars. Monkeys, Gooks, Niggers, "F**king Animals", as was over heard by a Ferguson police officer referring to Blacks protesting.

BLACKS ARE VIEWED AS TERRORIST BY MANY POLICE DEPARTMENTS IN AMERICA, AND SADLY BY TOO  MANY OF IT'S WHITE CITIZENS.

We are  sentenced to prison by the color of our skin not on the crime committed. Even worse cops act as Judge Dredd, Police, Judge, and Executioner.

The most egregious demonstration of how unwanted African Americans are in America is the treatment of the First African American President. 

I have witnessed some horrible treatment of African Americans over the past 50 years. Just like alcoholism it gets worse, never better.

I have to admit I do not know what the solutions are. Back to Africa? Finding a uninhabited Island or piece of land?

You might say, "That is ridiculous and far fetched." My response is simple,

So is expecting fair treatment under the law?

For many it is a fatal fantasy.

IS MARK CUBAN A RACIST? PROBABLY NOT!

Is Mark Cuban a racist? I do not believe he is.

     I use to constantly hear as a child that I should not judge others. All I did was judge others, at least I thought. What about the kid who picked buggers from his nose, or the teachers pet, or the bully spitting wet balls and the nerds head? What was I to think nothing?

     I soon learned that there is a difference between a judgement and an opinion. I will change an opinion but I won't change a judgement. 

     For example if I see a guy for the first time, he's dirty, and looks like a bum, I'll call him a dirty bum. If I see him a year later and he is cleaned up and doing well, if my first impression was an opinion I will say "Oh, he's cleaned up, he is no longer a dirty bum", but if I have judged him I will most likely say, A suit don't change things he is still a dirty bum."

     What does this have to do about race? Every race has an opinion about another race. The unwillingness to change the opinion makes it racism.

     I have a racist skeleton in my closet. If I heard a white person speak with a southern accent I assumed they were racist.

I WAS WRONG. 

It took enlistment in the Navy to prove me wrong. One of my best and loyal friends was a red head freckled kid from Tennessee. Today I listen to the words and not the accent.

     Mark Cuban and I are entitled to our opinion. He and I should both be allowed to make a mistake we are human.

     Now Donald Sterling on the other hand has proven in thought and deed to be an outright racist. He is also prejudice to people who have AIDS and are HIV positive.

     He has practiced racism as a property owner. I know a Vietnam combat veteran who was displaced due to his racist practice. Therefore Sterling has earned the title of racist, and Mark Cuban has not. 

     Now, if you ask me if Mark Cuban's remarks about a black man in a hoodie was smart? Hell no! It was stupid in fact. He has a business and it just might be effected as a result.

     Should he be judged a racist. No. Saying or thinking dumb things does not tell you what is in a person's heart. His actions give you a clear view.

     So I give Cuban a pass for saying something that was not to smart for a NBA owner. 

     Of course that is my opinion  and I'm sticking with it for now!

WHEN SHOULD A HUMAN BEING BE CONSIDERED VERMIN?

First of all let me state that, I was middle of the road when it came to State Sanctioned Executions, yet I leaned  more to the side of abolishing it all together. People like Clayton Lockett, had no mercy for Stephanie Neiman, the girl he shot and buried alive, so I really have no problem with him receiving the harshest punishment allowed under the law.                                                                                                                                                                                     

Yet I also believe that executions in the U.S. are race biased, and in many cases there is no way to determine if the person being killed by the government is 100% guilty.

This is not about Lockett and murdering scum like him, it about us. The American people.

I recall when I attempted to read the book "Rise and Fall of the Third Reich", by William I. Shirer.

I couldn't finish the book because when I got to the Nazi executions, I could not stomach reading any further.

That brings me to the point I am trying to make.

In 1933 Nazi Germany, the Jews were considered "parasitic vermin". Nazi leaders determined in their infamous "Final Solution" that a country had the right to rid itself of vermin even if human.

The problem they had, was determining the best way to execute a large mass of humans at the same time.

They began to experiment, first with carbon monoxide poisoning, by actually putting victims in the back of trucks designed to pump carbon monoxide into them and then drive the victims around for hours until they expired.

They lined up humans in firing squads, that resembled a car assembly line. They put people in freezers and did mass drownings and other horrible experimentation, until they finally developed the gas Zyklon B, to carry out their Legal and authorized executions under German law at the time.

After the horrific botched executions, the most recent in Oklahoma, I couldn't help but draw the comparison. Just like the Nazis, states that still have the Death Penalty, are having problems with finding a humane way to carry out state sanctioned killings of human beings. They are experimenting with drugs, procedures and even companies that manufacture the drugs secret.

Even though, the reasons and justifications for killing humans for crimes maybe different in The United States of America in 2014, compared to 1933 Nazi Germany, the means to the end are horribly the same.

For this reason I have been pushed totally to the side to abolish the Death Penalty in all 50 States. If they have a problem with doing it humanely then it should not be done at all.

Bottom line,for what ever reasons a country deems it necessary to kill humans with the same regard one has for cock roaches, it is SICK, SICK,SICK!!!!

I did say that people like Lockett should get the harshest punishment under the law. But if there were not a death penalty law that could be applied I would not it expect it after he had a fair trail. I would except life in prison without parole.

NAT TURNER WAS A SLAVE TOO!

   In 1831 an American Slave by the name of Nat Turner started a slave rebellion. It ended with the death of 50 Whites. The Whites in turn retaliated by killing an estimated 300 slaves, many were not even involved with the rebellion.

     Nine years earlier in 1822 another freed slave by the name of Denmark Vesey plotted a slave rebellion, but was snitched on by another slave.

There was also Gabriel Prosser, The Jamaican rebellion, and of the most successful rebellion of all, the Haitian rebellion against France.

     The reason I am writing this blog is in  part due to the racist comments made by Clive Bundy, the new hero of the fringe Right. He believes African Americans would be better off as slaves.
    In fact I tweeted my disdain of the gun toting idiots defending the freeloading welfare cowboy, and I was refereed to as a slave many times under the hashtag #BundyRanch. I replied to them all, yeah "Nat Turner". But I began to realized those toothless gun toting idiot trolls probably thought I was talking about a NBA player.

     Let me get to the point. Bundy is not the only racist who is spinning this nonsense that slavery would be preferable to the way they believe blacks are living today. In their small walnut size brain,s all African Americans are on welfare and live in housing projects. They never realize that most of the people who are on welfare are white and in red states. What should happen to all of them? Should they be sent back to Europe?
 
      American Slavery was the worst system of slavery in history. Closet racist always want to point out that Africans sold slaves to slavers. But when the Africans got word on how the system was in America they stopped selling slaves and in fact turned on white slavers and where in turn, sold into slavery themselves.

 

 American slavery was horrible. It was the first time slavery was determined solely on the race of a people. It is estimated that 50 million African slaves lost their lives in one way or another from 1620 to 1865. Families torn apart, white men having children with slave women and selling their own children into slavery.
I recall as a child older relatives telling stories of children who would be considered autistic today were put down like dogs.
     Yet there are people like Bundy who think blacks would be better off "owned" by white men.

     What's truly alarming is to witness the many main stream Republicans, who also embrace this notion that slavery is better than welfare. For blacks only that is.

     Republican recently  had  to clarify their support of a pledge that contained a controversial preamble suggesting black children born into slavery had better family structures than black children now.
Along with the erosion of civil rights and affirmative action by the U.S. Supreme court and all this talk of "States Rights", I actually wonder how many are thinking about reinstating slavery as a states right option?

     Of course this is absurd, and Federal Laws prohibit such actions. But the mere thought that in 2014 people are still bringing slavery up as a positive alternative to social welfare is outrageous. And it is dangerous too.

     Bottom line, the need for African Americans and other reasonable Americans to get out and vote is more important than ever.  I don't vote just to put the right people in office, I also vote to keep the wrong people out. Anyone who embraces people like Clive Bundy and Ted Nuggent are definitely the wrong people. Right now all of them are on the Right.

     Come November I will vote. I will vote on more issues than idiots who think blacks would be better off as slaves, but you can be damned sure of this, it will be on the top of my issues. Because with racist creeps like Bundy being embraced by many on the Right as a hero, it's a good thing I have the ballot to choose rather than a bullet. Any notion being entertained to bring back slavery is an issue I would surely fight to the death to prevent.

Today's Black Men are a bunch of Pussies!

     On August 11, 1965 I witnessed one of the most traumatic events in my life the Watts Riot. I was 12 years old and  I almost lost my life twice. Once when I was inside a store on 41st and Central and someone threw a Molotov Cocktail in a  store I was shopping in. Everyone inside, had to get to the back of the store and knock down a door seconds before the whole store was engulfed.
      The second time I was going to a Market on Adams and Central to get some milk at the only store open.  The National Guard had one of it's command centers there. I came out of an alley made a hook slide on my bike, when the dust cleared from the slide, I was staring down the barrel of an M-14 and a scared, shaking white boy, in an Army uniform. Did I mention at 12, I was 5'9' and weighed 189 pounds. Luckily I just got cussed out and not killed like the other 33 Blacks that lost their life.

     I mention this tonight, on one of the worst injustices perpetrated on African Americans, the not guilty verdict of George Zimmerman.  I don't condone riots. In both Los Angeles riots Blacks got the worst end of that deal. But what I do condone is what happen before the Watts riot and what happened afterwards.

     Before the Watts Riot, I recall watching TV and seeing  brave African American  men, marching for civil rights. I saw them as they were snatched from  diners and beaten by angry White men. Yet they came out the next day, with bandages and sat at the same counter. I watched as those Black students walked up to the front of the University of Alabama, to face an ugly snarling racist, then walk through the door. I recall how I wanted to go to Selma and fight the police I saw beating the Black people who wanted to vote. I know there were Black women and White people in the mix, but as a young man I was intrigued by the Black men. I wanted to be just like them. Fight their fear and risk harm for me.  Then they killed Martin Luther King Jr. I thought they have beat us again. I was afraid that Blacks would settle for what they would give us. We would slip back into the  Jim Crow days of old.

   
      Then one day I turned on the TV and I saw another image. I saw proud Black men, with Black Tams and Leather Coats, and this scary Black Panther. I saw them standing there with guns. I saw them not begging for justice, but demanding justice. I saw how afraid the White talking heads looked on the news cast, reported how these men who were demanding, that the United States protect our neighborhood from police brutality. That if U.S. didn't, they would. They would protect the community from the police, by any means necessary. These were the offspring of the Civil Rights Movement. Black Militancy had arrived.

     It was then I saw the changes. We were not begging for justice now. It was being offered., We were not begging for better jobs, they were coming to us. Instances of Police Brutality declined. For the first time in my life, I felt that African Americans were getting real  respect from Whites. I saw the first Blacks in various jobs and positions and careers that are common place today.
     I don't condone violence unless it is necessary. What I felt back then was a sense of pride. I was willing to fight and die. Fight and die to protect my community from from the ravages of racism that ate my forefathers inside out. It was a collective campaign. I truly believe Black Militants made justice move a little bit faster.






        Finally the day came when I looked on TV and I saw someone who looked just like me, throwing a grenade, and another man just like him firing a M-60 with tracers flying from the barrel. They were Black troops in Vietnam.  I saw that I came from a stock of men, who were not a bunch of "Yasah Massah" shuffling cowards.I joined to learn how to become a fighting man.  I come from a race of men who weren't afraid to stand up to the most powerful nation in the world and say, "enough is enough."  No more Emmett Tills, No more Medgar Evers, no more little girls dying in Churches in Birmingham. Because the world finally knew who we were.

       What happened to that Spirit is a long story. Crack supplied by the govenment, Gangs created by the CIA, bad roles models, that is for another blog.
 
         Jim Crow has risen his ugly head again and not a whisper. The First Black POTUS and it seems like no Black men have his back. We should have had a million man march when that Birth Certificate stupidity began. Throwing Black men into prison for stuff they give White people a ticket for. Another form of slavery.I hear nothing from Black men. Except for a few like Al Sharpton, and a whole lot of Black women, Bill Maher,

 a White man,  is the only militant  voice we have. Voting Right Acts, GONE!!!! And a Fat Fuck name George Zimmerman gets away with a one man lynching of Trayvon Martin and all I see is a bunch of sorry ass tweets and Facebook posting.

There needs to be Marching, and voting and boycotting, and if necessary, a show of force to let it be known, if the justice system won't protect our Black youth, then Black men will by any means necessary.

Yeah, I'm sorry Brothers but compared to the Black men of the 50's, 60's and 70"s. Y'all is a bunch of pussies.
